A few night's ago I called in and joined the discussion on THE IDIOT ENGINE, a podcast created and hosted by Ted Seko (cartoonist/storyboard artist). Also joining us as a third host was Michael Aushenker, cartoonist and writer (BACK ISSUE magazine, among many newspapers throughout So. Cal).
Our topic was 'Violence and how it's used in Storytelling'. Among the movies we discuss were ROBOCOP, THE GODFATHER, THE MATRIX as well as shows like THE 3 STOOGES and LOONEY TUNES. Also we look at the violence in such comics as The Dark Knight and Amazing Fantasy #15 (first appearance of Spider-Man) as well as our own comics.
Ted's show is known for interesting and detailed talk on a whole host of topics related to storytelling and content creation. All you artists type, give it a listen as your drawing on your iPads or flatting colors on your computer! Here's the link to Ted's blog with the episode
